The OpenSourceEV NextGen Phone Mount V2 is the latest generation of the best phone mount on the market for Rivian R1T and R1S. It's the updated version our mount that installs at the very top of the driver side or passenger side outboard vents. It doesn't obstruct airflow at all, it's easily in reach of the driver, and it's outside of the shadow of the steering wheel.
The NextGen Phone Mount V2 has been painstakingly updated to make this the very best phone mount on the market for the Rivian R1T and R1S. Here's what's new:
The NextGen Phone Mount V2 continues the precedents set by the last generation phone mounts we released. We wholeheartedly believe it's the absolute BEST phone mount on the market for the Rivian because:
The NextGen Phone Mount is compatible with all three ball sizes - 17MM, 20MM and 1 Inch. The 17MM works with most phone mounts, 20MM works with the co-branded Offroam x Peak Designs products, and a 1" size designed for RAM branded items only.
If you're not sure what to get, we recommend the 17MM setup. It's what most phone holders on the market use, for better or worse. This includes all four options that we sell, should you not want to roll-your-own.
This mount alone will not hold a phone in your Rivian - it is designed to be an attachment for a 3rd party phone holder. The phone holder snaps onto the ball mount and locks down in place via a locking screw on the back.
We sell four different phone mounts that we have validated to worked exceptionally well with this mount:
Pictures of each mount are in the gallery - both of the part, and what it looks like installed. As each mount is magnetic, they all come with a metal ring that can be affixed to your phone or case if not equipped already. Charing phone holders all come with a USB-A to USB-C cable too. (the USB-A side plugs in)
If you're interested in a charging mount, you'll also need somewhere to pub the charger into. We strongly suggest the 'Frequently Bought Together' Scoche OBD II to USB-A Quick Charge Connector. This connector plugs into the ODB II port in the driver footwell and has a positionable USB-A port on it. (which is what both Lisen charging adapters plug into) We strongly recommend this connector due to the following reasons:

In order to install this properly, I had to shorten the screw by 4mm and then superglue the nut into the slot where it goes - first attempts to install this with the too long screw resulted in the nut stripping the slot so it kept turning without tightening. Once installed with the shortened screw and nut glued in, it works well.
Hi Robert - Thanks for the feedback. We don't carry a screw that is too long for this application, so something may have gone wrong during install. Can you reach out to us so we can replace the broken parts? --Rob @OSEV
Had a fitment issue. Communication was great. Resolution was perfect. Works great!!!!!
Very simple to install but it's rock solid. Paired this with the Offroam + Peak Design MagSafe charger. Now I have a perfect view of my phone, unlike the mount I tried before which was next to the main display where my phone was mostly obscured by the steering wheel. Much happier with this one and its location.
I previously had purchased the left hand drivers side mount they made. I installed it and it never really fit right where it was supposed to against the A pillar. It’s worked for almost a year but had recently been more problematic. So,I saw that they had improved that design and decided to give it a go. I’ve installed it and it is by far a better fit design. It holds the phone mount snugly and should continue to do so indefinitely. Very glad I made the swap.
This mount is exactly what I was looking for. Secure and unobtrusive. Much safer than glancing down at the phone on the charging pad. I bought the kit with the Lisen holder and it works great. Also got one for the passenger side and my wife loves it.
