Made in the USA. And We'll Tell You Exactly What That Means.

"Made in the USA" is one of the most abused phrases in manufacturing. Plenty of products wear the label when all that happened on American soil was final assembly, or a sticker. We use it because it's true, and because we'd rather tell you precisely what it covers and what it doesn't than hide behind a vague badge. Here's the whole picture.

Where Your Part Is Actually Made

Every part we sell is 3D printed right here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on our own printers. Not outsourced, not drop-shipped from an overseas print farm, not "designed here, made elsewhere." When you order from us, the part is manufactured in our shop, inspected here, and packed here. The person who printed it is the same person who answers your email if something's wrong.

The Filament

We print in Polymaker PolyLite ASA, and we use US-made filament where available. Polymaker manufactures some of its filament in the United States, and we source the American-made stock when we can get it. We won't tell you every gram of plastic in every part came from a US facility, because that isn't always the case and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that we prioritize US-made material and use it whenever it's available to us.

What Isn't Made Here, and Why We Say So

A small number of components in some products aren't things we manufacture, hardware like fasteners, and the occasional sourced part. Those are bought in, not printed, and the supply chain for that kind of hardware is what it is. That's why you'll see "(electronics excluded)" or a similar note on our Made in the USA claim. It's not fine print we're hoping you skip; it's the honest boundary of the claim. Everything within our power to make here, we make here. The rest, we tell you about.

Even the Machines Are Going Open

We're transitioning our production to Snapmaker U1 printers, which largely run on open-source, community-enhanced firmware. It's not a "made in USA" point exactly, but it's part of the same instinct: we care about how our parts get made, not just where. The equipment on our floor increasingly runs on open, community-improved software rather than a locked proprietary stack, which fits everything else we stand for.

Why We Bother

Making things in Pittsburgh isn't the cheapest way to run this business. Overseas print farms exist, and they'd cut our costs. We don't use them because keeping production here means we control quality, we can turn a fix around fast, and the money stays in an American small business run by someone who actually uses these parts in his own Rivian. When you buy from us, you're not funding a faceless supply chain. You're supporting a one-family shop that makes what it sells, a few miles from where this all got started.
